With members from all over Los Angeles and Orange County, Special Blend is undoubtedly the hottest upcoming Reggae Rock band in Southern California at the moment.
Their groovy tunes have been spreading peace and love all around the Golden State for about 5 years now and from their recent sold out shows it seems like people aren't getting sick of them. How could they? Each show they play they bring brand new vibes and energy and they definitely make sure to transmit those feelings to their crowd. The Californian quintet is surely a Special Blend of special musicians brought together for a special purpose. That’s why we are super excited to announce that Special Blend will please our ears with a dope acoustic set at Community B.A.S.H. on July 23rd. While we all wait for that special moment, enjoy the reading of their interview with Community Buzz.
- Where does the name, “Special Blend”, come from? Tell us the story behind it. Special Blend comes from deep Columbia - What do you guys sound like? But to make it more fun and different, I want you guys to describe your music style using only movie titles. Princess Bride, Beetlejuice, Rambo and Rocky 2, because Apollo Creed is badass! - What inspires you to make your music? And by “what” I mean anything, objects, food, people, animals… Ivan Drego, Sliced Beats, Minced Onions, Farley - Everyone has a favorite 90’s jam. What is yours? There will be no judgment what so ever affiliated to your answer. I promise. Bobby Brown - Every Little Step - If you could choose someone to open for on a world tour who would it be? Dead or alive…since all the good ones are dying. Dispatch - From 1 to “OMFGTYSHEYSTAGAG I’M SHITTING MY PANTS” how excited are you to perform at Community B.A.S.H.? What are you expecting from the event? More stoked than a tornado in a trailer park! - Ok final question and also weirdest one. You’ve been given a Pink Fairy Armadillo (yes, it’s a real thing, google it). You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with it? "I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti"
